Missouri Commercial Lease Agreement
The Missouri Commercial Lease Agreement is a legally binding contract facilitating the rental of a commercially-zoned property for exclusive business purposes. Unlike residential agreements intended for everyday living, commercial properties strictly prohibit residing on the premises. Missouri Code offers limited restrictions on commercial leasing, even preventing counties and cities from regulating rent amounts (§ 441.043). However, Missouri Law mandates that leases with terms exceeding one (1) year be in writing (§ 432.010).
Both tenants and landlords should be aware that despite the few regulations on lease covenants, the terms and conditions in the agreement become legally binding once signed. This highlights the importance of carefully reviewing and understanding the contract’s provisions to ensure a smooth business relationship between parties.
