Missouri Commercial Lease Agreement
The Missouri Commercial Lease Agreement is a binding contract used for the renting of a commercially-zoned property to be used exclusively for a business purpose. Unlike residential agreements, which are meant for day-t0-day living, commercial properties strictly prohibit living in. Missouri Code has very few restrictions on commercial leasing, and even goes as far as preventing counties and cities from dictating the amount of rent that can be charged (Section 441.043). Missouri Law does, however, require leases that have terms longer than one (1) year be in writing (Section 432.010). It is essential that tenants and landlords understand that just because there are few laws restricting the contents of lease covenants, the conditions contained therein are legally binding once signed.
