Vermont Limited Power of Attorney Form

A Vermont limited power of attorney is a legal document that permits a principal to entrust various duties to an agent. The assigned person has a short window to complete the responsibilities, especially if the principal imposes a start or end date.

Accomplishing the tasks means that the agent understands what they need to do and effectively executes the steps with attention to detail. This person must feel comfortable using their best judgment or contacting the principal if questions or concerns arise.

If a principal changes their mind or no longer trusts the agent, they can terminate the document using a revocation power of attorney. They do not need to list why they have made this decision; however, they must inform the agent immediately.

Signing requirements (14 V.S.A. § 3503(1)): One (1) witness and a notary public must be present.
