Missouri Limited Power of Attorney Form
A Missouri limited power of attorney is a two (2) page contract that allows an attorney-in-fact to make one-time decisions and sign documents for a principal. It serves as a record of the arrangement between both individuals.
The form empowers an attorney-in-fact to handle whichever concerns the principal requested, such as picking up their mail, signing legal papers, or managing their investment portfolio. It does not give the individual ever-lasting power, however. The agent’s authority ends if they finish their tasks, the contract reaches its expiration date, or the principal cancels it or becomes incapacitated (unable to make decisions).
Signing requirements (§ 404.705(3)): The document requires notarization.
