West Virginia Limited Power of Attorney Form
A West Virginia limited power of attorney consents a third party (an agent) to handle essential responsibilities for a principal. This form lasts for a limited or short period compared to other types of power of attorneys. A principal uses it to have someone manage their finances, take care of their work responsibilities, and much more. The key differentiator of a limited power of attorney form is that the duties occur once and expire upon completion.
A limited power of attorney is typically not used for long-term or health-related choices. Instead, they provide a solution to the principal for another person to manage the tasks they cannot due to a busy schedule or other valid reasons.
The designated agent must always be someone who is trusted to carry out the duties as desired by the principal. For this reason, a principal commonly appoints a family member, business partner, or close friend.
