Kansas Non-Disclosure Agreement Template
A Kansas non-disclosure agreement (NDA) carries the purpose of telling an individual or entity what info must be kept secret from third parties. The form is often found in employment settings, where a new hire will potentially have access to a company’s valuable processes, recipes, or finances, to name a few.
The contract can be made unilateral (one-way) or bilateral (two-way). The standard (and recommended use) is one-way, which involves only one party sharing information with the other.
Laws
Kansas’ Uniform Trade Secret Act covers how the state handles misappropriation of trade secrets and other important topics. While trade secret laws are almost the same across the country, each state has their own interpretations of the legal matters surrounding trade secrets.
- Chapter: §§ 60-3301 – 60-3358
- Definitions: § 60-3302
- Statute of Limitations (§ 60-3325): From the date of discovery, victims of stolen trade secrets have three (3) years to take action.
