A variation of the standard lease, the Missouri Month-to-Month Rental Agreement is an open-ended lease used for renting out property without establishing a specific end date. Either party can legally end the lease so long they provide the other party with a written notice made one (1) month in advance of the next rent payment.

Monthly eases are commonly used by landlords that 1) cannot lease their property on a yearly basis, 2) have a furnished rental, or 3) wish to collect higher rent payments. Tenants that are often attracted to monthly leases are those that are looking for an extended vacation, are waiting for a newly-built home to be completed, or are making an extended stay at a job worksite. to provide renters with housing that doesn’t bind them into a contract that has a duration of one (1) year or longer.
