Alabama Real Estate Power of Attorney Form
The Alabama Real Estate (Property) Power of Attorney is a form that can be downloaded and completed to assign the right to manage residential or commercial property to a trusted individual or entity. The entity receiving permission to manage the real estate is called the “agent” in legal terminology. The form is commonly used when a person intends to purchase or sell a property, but they can’t be present at the closing in-person. Additionally, the form can be used if the owner of a rental property is out-of-town and needs someone to collect rent, pay the property taxes, or conduct maintenance on the property. Per Alabama law, the agreement is only official if the document is signed and notarized. Only the person completing the form needs to have their signature notarized – the agent is exempt from needing to sign the form.
